The northernmost route links Alsace to the Palatinate via the Lauter cycle trail. Further south, several trails criss-cross the Rhine via the many cross-over points (ferry, bridge and dam): Haguenau, the town of Frederick Barbarossa, is linked to the spa town of Baden-Baden; from Molsheim, the birth place of Bugatti cars, a dedicated trail takes you to Offenburg on the Baden wine trail, and further south you come to the Villé-Elzach trail.
