The carved spire of the Collegiate Church has been protected the town and its surroundings since 1516. As your stroll along the narrow streets, you will discover 16th century houses, fountains, oriel windows, towers and fortifications dating from the 14th and 15th centuries and the embankments of the Thur. From the ruins of the Engelbourg castle, which are 20 minutes away from the center (only by foot), you can have a fine view of the Rangen vineyard and the Alsace plain. Thann belongs to the network of the towns “Les Plus Beaux Détours de France” (France’s most beautiful detours).
