" Le temps d'un week-end, plongez dans un univers insolite, du temps des seigneurs de Ribeaupierre... "
In 2024, the historical re-enactment "1549: The Silver Rush" will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May for its 13th edition!
After the Middle Ages, the Renaissance revealed exceptional new technical skills. Discover what goes on behind the scenes: from miner to carpenter to blacksmith, mining is a world full of ingenuity... and a thirst for discovery!
For a weekend, plunge into an unusual world, from the time of the Lords of Ribeaupierre...
In the miners' village, you'll find :
- At the tavern: miner's soup, drinks and planks, embered boar on Sundays
- Craftsmen: carpenter, ceramist, grocer, jeweler, basket maker...
- Games for all ages
- The mining judge: taking the mining oath with the judge and his secretary before leaving for the mine
At the Saint-Louis-Eisenthür silver mine:
- The lumberjack and the carpenter
- The forge: making pointerolles, the miners' tools
- Ore sorting: ore crushing by Shaideurs and sorting by Cloweresses
- Welcoming the miners: tools, equipment, greeting the miner and praying to St. Barbara
- In the heart of the mountain: the sound world of Renaissance miners, the Houttman and the miners, water-pullers, fellers, laborers...
Practical information:
